An AISC Certified Fabricator, EDCO works with General Construction, Marine Construction, Renewable Energy, Aerospace and Defense, and other industries with a need for metal fabrication and specialized custom equipment.

We are seeking Production Welders, entry level to experienced welders that have professional experience with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques. Qualifications.

Welders must be able to cut, fit, and weld their projects with minimum supervision.

Experience working in the steel fabrication industry and be proficient with GTAW, GMAW and FCAW welding (steel, aluminum, stainless).

Wire feed welding.

Familiarity with structural steel shop fabrication tools and machinery, including material handling equipment such as jib cranes and forklifts, is required.

Ability to read and interpret technical engineering assembly and fabrication drawings.

Must be detail oriented, able to meet quality and production standards.

Demonstrates continuous process improvement and follows current manufacturing practices.

Follows all policies, procedures, standards, and safety requirements.

Ability to calculate mathematical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on a calculator to determine weights, measurements, time, and quantities.

Specific Activities. Activities include but not limited to:

Reviews project requirements with team members in pre-production meetings.

Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, seeking simple, straight forward, and efficient production using the tools on hand effectively.

Layouts, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural steel, machinery, frames tanks and building parts.

Gathers and verifies material quality and correctness.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

Prepares, cuts, or directs material to appropriate team members as required.

Assemble and install equipment using appropriate assembly methods as per plans by bolting or welding.

Creates jigs as required, bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.

Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.

Uses in-process quality checking procedure consistently; supports and utilizes EDCO’s Quality Management System.

Welds according to welding standards such as D1.1, D1.5, D1.6 or other industry standards as applicable.

Aids others in their work as asked, supports team effort and continuous learning and cross training.

Education and Experience.

Completion of technical training in welding; or related experience and/or training. WABO certification a plus

2 or more years of recent professional TIG/MIG welding experience required.

2 or more years of metal fabrication experience

Testing. Must be able to pass EDCO’s Welder Qualifications prior to hire. Flux core weld test in the vertical position

Physical Demands. Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in an industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection and other appropriate protective clothing.

Work Location. Work is performed on-site.

Schedule. Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts, may require some overtime work.

Job Type. Full-time, Non-exempt position

Compensation. $22-$30 DOE
